Michigan: Huron County Medical Care Facility’s Annual Christmas Open House

On the first weekend in December each year, HCMCF holds its Christmas Open House for all the residents and families. The Activity department chooses a theme and works on decorations for many months. Dining Services collaborates with the Activity department to coordinate a menu that complements the theme. This year’s theme was a Vintage Christmas at the Tree Farm. The menu featured classic diner comfort foods consisting of: Classic Mini Hot Dogs, Cheeseburger Sliders, Mac and Cheese Bites and Grill Cheese Toast Points with Shooters of Tomato Soup. The dessert bar was presented like an old fashioned ice cream parlor with choices of: Caramel Apple Pie Tarts a la Mode, Hot Fudge Brownie Sundaes, Root Beer or Coke Floats, Ice Cream Sundaes with Frosted Sugar Cookies. The sugar cookies matched the holiday décor of a vintage red pick-up truck carrying home the family Christmas tree in the back.
Residents and family enjoyed the party and the cookies were a favorite of everyone.

Merry Christmas from Huron County Medical Care Facility!
